There’s a lot of information out there on how and why to train your dog. My border collie Barley and I currently compete in agility, herding, nosework, and skijoring. I continued taking on private clients and pursuing certifications in safe animal handling, aggressive dog training, and more. My job there was to educate the public on animal behavior via phone consults and train hundreds of dogs and cats per week to get ready for adoption. That same year, I started working as an animal behavior consultant Denver Dumb Friends League, the nations 4th-largest animal shelter.

I earned a certification in Dog Behavior Consulting from the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants in 2017. I interned at a zoo, where I learned to train hippos, beavers, cranes, and more animals. I apprenticed at All Breed Rescue and Training in Colorado Springs, where I focused on puppy socialization, basic manners, and reactive dog classes. I started training dogs professionally in 2012 and started training parrots and cats professionally in 2014. At Colorado College, I studied biology, ecology, and psychology. My favorite summer job was working as a falcon trainer at a local visitor center. Glad you asked! I have been training homing pigeons, chickens, cats, and dogs since I was a small child.
